In my last post, I mentioned planning to start a podcast. That seemed like a good idea until I tried to see how it would fit into my schedule. As a chaotic creative, I have a lot of wonderfully creative ideas. Many have served me well, like making art when I felt lost and upset or learning to read oracle cards to connect with my Higher Self. My favorite creative idea, the Boat analogy, since 2008, has been helping me to understand my motivations. Learning to love myself better has been the greatest gift of this analogy. It’s my inspiration behind writing, connecting with the world, art classes, and card readings. Using the strategies within the Boat, I’ve discovered great satisfaction in creating a happy home and a healthy life for myself and others.
We can all appreciate how valuable knowledge is, especially self-knowledge. Finding our core and getting what we need to feel balanced and stable takes time and effort. This boat analogy shows us that with practice, we can lean into fortifying with love, provisions, fun, and rest. We can develop stronger self-awareness (like the Captain standing on the deck of a ship) to face the waves of our challenges when the world seems uncertain and scary.
Reality
When I looked into the details of putting together a successful podcast, I realized that taking on one more responsibility wasn’t in the cards for meโat least not right now. I’m pretty busy caring for my husband, writing books, offering art classes, and reading Oracle cards while “swabbing the decks and running the galley” at home. Perhaps things will change later, but I need to stick to what I know my soul is calling me to do.

In the meantime, if you have a podcast and are interested in having me as a guest to discuss the Boat analogy, making art, or reading alchemy cards, I would be very curious to hear from you. Go ahead and leave a comment here on the blog or email me at pambelding at gmail dot com.
Setting a path
This year, 2025, I aim to bring more fun and joy into life, yours, mine, and ours. Despite the current circumstances of our country’s political environment, I want to take control of my attention and live well anyway.
Oscar Wilde offers a great reminder, “Living well is the best revenge.“ I want to focus on being more fully alive (doing art classes and card readings) while working on finishing and sharing the new bookย Lessons from the Boat. You’re welcome to join me.
Love charts a course.
This is the first foundational lesson from the Boat analogy. It continues to help me and others when we feel overwhelmed and unsure.
“Like the rudder on a ship, one small change to one’s attitude can drastically affect the future. By keeping it adjusted, one can get wherever is needed to go. The key is focusing on love instead of fear. Love for ourselves, our family, our friends, and our world is the only way to get through. Fear makes us go in circles, frustrating ourselves and everyone around us. Love helps us to chart a course toward a life worth living. Loving ourselves is a gift we give to everyone.”
Helping ourselves helps others. At least, we can try! ๐ So, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! I want to leave something delicious and satisfying in the physical, spiritual, and virtual planes so you can look forward to more upcoming content on the blog *Woohoo*, YouTube, and BlueSkyApp.
“Fighting the pirates of distraction,” I’m stepping away from Meta to avoid further enriching Mark Zuckerberg.
I’m currently booking in-person classes and card reading events. Message me if you’re in the SouthEast Michigan area for more details.
Showing up like a light in the darkness on the seas of life. We all have love to offer and skills to pass along. Let me know how you’re doing and what you’ve been up to in the comments below.
Are you planning anything fun for your future? How do you express love for yourself and your people?
Thank you for reading. I look forward to hearing from you.
