As the news continues to tell us how the world is burning down, it’s all too easy to get lost and distracted by the horror. I’ll be honest, it’s hard not to look at the tragedies and wonder how we’re ever going to get through this. It’s true, we live in unprecedented times. However, fear will only take us in circles, frustrating ourselves and everyone around us.
The bad guys want us to run scared, freaking out because of their terrible behavior. They get off on being cruel because that’s all they know how to do. What’s being exposed right now has been going on for a long time. However, as awful as it is, now that it’s being brought to light, we can look forward to bringing the criminals to justice and honoring the survivors. Like pulling out a sliver, this work is painful for sure, but absolutely necessary to begin the healing process. We mustn’t let their brutality steal our attention. We deserve better, and our kids do, too.

“The moral arc of the universe is long, but, it points towards justice.” MLK
It’s been the end of the world since the beginning of time. We must defend our attention and do what needs to be done. Remember, you’re the boat, not the storm you’re sailing through.
xoxo Pam
