This post is part of my cornerstone content, written years ago, updated for today, and still inspiring wisdom and deep understanding.
We all have to let go of something at one time or another. Like that security blanket when we were little, the training wheels for our bike, or that ex who had completely different hopes and dreams, holding on to what is no longer meant for us creates a drag on our energy, slowing down our progress.
Like a seedling breaking out of its shell, exposing ourselves to new and different elements can make us feel vulnerable, unsettled, and alone. Whether you call it enlightenment, spiritual awakening, or personal development, the next level we’re hoping for can only be found outside our comfort zone.
“If you’re irritated by every rub, how will you be polished?”
Rumi
Not everything in your life is meant to stay forever. Just like an agate, the beauty of who you hope to become is always there, but without being tumbled and polished, you can’t see it.
Especially during turbulent times, we need to remember to be gentle with ourselves.
Waking up
That process of clearing out and stripping away the non-essentials, sanding down your ego’s expectations, buffing out your bad habits, and scraping off toxic relationships, it’s all very irritating! The good news is, you’re not alone. Every single person on the path toward their own enlightenment has a story about their awakening and the pain and suffering it caused.
This website is my gift to anyone who’s feeling lost and alone, tossed about on the stormy seas of life. By sharing my stories of awakening and developing awareness, I hope to offer solace to offset your discomfort and deeper understanding to lighten your load.
Go ahead and read through the other blog posts and watch the videos. Use the Boat analogy to step back and examine the stories going through your head. Expand beyond your fears by recognizing the true power of love and wisdom within you.
If you would like someone to talk to about a spiritual awakening you experienced, I’d love to hear your story. Leave me a comment below, and we’ll set up a time to chat.
xoxo Pam
